Fourth of July Captiva Island Florida Vacation Fishing TournamentSpend Independence Day honoring tradition and starting a few new traditions of your own at ‘Tween Waters Inn Island Resort. The Fourth of July Weekend at ‘Tween Waters Inn is a fun-filled day, starting with the Second Annual Funtastic Fourth Fishing Derby — a half-day tournament free to all guests with Fourth of July reservations for three or more nights. After a fish-filled day, enjoy a mouth-watering new tradition: a Captiva Island Roast, replete with slow roasted pig.

The fishing tournament is July 3, 2010 from 8 to 11 a.m., with registration available daily at the Marina at ‘Tween Waters from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. leading up to the tournament. The tournament is free for all ages, with a three-day reservation or more. There will be three age groups and two categories, including the longest single fish and total number of fish caught. Prizes will be awarded July 3, 2010 at 5 p.m. This is a catch and release tournament, and all participants 16 and over must have a Florida Fishing license.

Complete the Fourth of July evening with the all-you-can-eat Captiva Island Roast, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Luau is $18.95 for two dinners for all guests staying three or more nights. Kids 10 and under eat free. Visitors and guests not staying three nights or more are encouraged to dig in for only $18.95 per person.

The Crow’s Nest at ‘Tween Waters Inn will “host the roast” so join in the fun and sample the delicious menu items including: slow roasted suckling pig, coleslaw, corn on the cob, baked beans and Key lime tarts. These tasty items partner perfect with “two for one” draft beer. Barbecue chicken and the regular menu will also be available.

Serving 5.30 pm – 9.30 pm. on Mother’s Day, Old Captiva House will have the regular menu plus two Chef Jason specials: Twin Warm Water Lobster Tails with roasted garlic mashed potato, drawn butter and vegetable of the day AND Surf and Turf, including one 7oz warm water lobster tail and one 4oz petite filet with mashed potato and vegetable of the day. Captiva Island Vacation JewelryThroughout February until early April, Canoe & Kayak Cafe at ‘Tween Waters Inn will hold its Artist Lunch Series. Each lunch will feature elegant creations of art along with the chance to meet the area’s most popular artists.

Serving Wednesday-Sunday, 12:00-3:00 PM, the bay-front setting event will feature scrumptious culinary selections, such as Shrimp Salad, Smoked Chicken Panini, BBQ Pork Slider Trio, and many more – including a children’s menu.
